The Fluke 179 is the best model available in Fluke’s 170 series of digital multimeters. Like the other models in the same range, the Fluke 175 and Fluke 177, the 179 is a true-RMS manual/auto ranging digital multimeter with rugged design, easy-to-use interface and is suitable for use in everywhere from domestic electrical applications to use in industrial areas where other testers might be easily damaged. The major difference between the 179 and the more basic products in the range is that the 179 is capable of carrying out temperature measurements in both Celsius/Fahrenheit by using a probe that’s included as part of this package. This makes the Fluke 179 a great tool for checking the overall temperature of electrical components, allowing users to spot overheating problems before they damage the internal workings of a piece of machinery. It can also measure AC/DC voltage, AC/DC current (both AC voltage/current are true RMS measurements), resistance, capacitance, continuity and frequency. The Fluke 179 is IEC 1010 CAT IV 600V rated.
